Janet E. Young served as Associate Chancellor at the University of California, Merced. She joined UC Merced in 2001 as part of the founding administrative team charged with developing and opening the newest University of California campus. Prior to her service at UC Merced, Dr. Young was a member of the senior executive team at Los Alamos National Laboratory, holding the post of Chief of Staff of the Laboratory. She also served as the top professional staff member for three Presidents of the University of California. Dr. Young began her career in the Office of the Chancellor of the Oregon State System of Higher Education and she served in a senior administrative capacity at the Oregon Health and Science University before joining the University of California. She holds a doctor of jurisprudence degree from Willamette University and is a graduate with honors from Oregon State University.
