The UC Merced Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) serves the young children of the students, staff, and faculty of UC Merced and a number of community children with high quality early care and education. The ECEC follows the campus calendar and is open year-round. The center serves infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

The Sierra Terraces housing project is located in the campus core, adjacent to the Valley Terraces and Valley Dining Commons. It housees 400 students, 11 Resident Advisors and one housing staff member on site. Student residents participate in mandatory meal plans.

The Student Housing Phase 3 is composed of approximately 57,940 assignable square feet/84,130 gross square feet in two four-story buildings on the campus at Scholars Lane between Emigrant Pass and Mammoth Lakes Road, just to the west of the Valley Terraces student housing complex.
